This page temporarily highlights one of my dreams. This time it's about...
Internet Costs at a Glance
My dream for 2026 is that Internet Costs at a Glance becomes an overwhelming success.
Internet Costs at a Glance makes it easy to see if you're paying too much for your internet. Provided, of course, that there are enough people willing to share their internet costs.
Open wiki
Internet Costs at a Glance is a kind of open wiki. Anyone can submit their internet costs without logging in.
Internet Costs at a Glance shows what people currently pay for an internet connection, not which internet provider currently has the best offer.
Internet Costs at a Glance is therefore not a comparison website where you can see which internet subscriptions are currently the most advantageous.
Contracts dashboard
If enough contracts have been completed, the contracts dashboard (below an example with test data) shows at a glance what your internet costs are compared to others.
In the example above, you see that you pay more for your internet connection than most people in the Netherlands. This because your internet costs are above the median.
Clicking on a country will reveal more details. These include a box plot of download speeds (if sufficient data is available) and an overview of internet providers.
Privacy friendly
Internet Costs at a Glance is privacy friendly. All data is stored anonymously. Therefore, it's impossible to determine who entered which data.
The information you provide will be stored in your browser so you can compare your costs with those of others.
Add your internet costs to Internet Costs at a Glance. It's the most privacy-friendly way to compare your internet costs with those of others.
